B.4. Type of allocation of quota places:
The quota places are allocated to athlete by name for the singles and mixed doubles events.
For the team events the quota places are allocated to the NOC. A team quota entitles the NOC to two
single quotas for which the two highest ranked athletes of that NOC on the World Rankings by 18 June
2024 will be listed as the initial qualifiers for Singles and as team members.
C.1. Compliance with the Olympic Charter and other relevant rules
All athletes must respect and comply with the provisions of the Olympic Charter currently in force,
including but not limited to Rule 41 (Nationality of Competitors) and Rule 43 (World Anti-Doping Code
and the Olympic Movement Code on the Prevention of Manipulation of Competitions).
Only those athletes who respect and comply with the Olympic Charter, the World Anti-Doping Code and
the Olympic Movement Code on the Prevention of the Manipulation of Competitions, including the
conditions of participation established by the IOC, plus the rules of the ITTF, may participate in the
Olympic Games Paris 2024.
C.2. Additional IF eligibility criteria
Qualification is open to all athletes selected by their Member Association (MA) and approved by their
National Olympic Committee (NOC) to take part in the Olympic Games. To be eligible to participate in
the Olympic Games Paris 2024, all athletes must:
Comply with the rules of the ITTF as they appear in the latest ITTF Handbook (click here).
Comply with the eligibility criteria established by the ITTF for Olympic competitions (click here).
For Universality quota places athletes must have appeared on any ITTF Ranking list from 1 July
2023 to 23 June 2024.
Events are listed in hierarchical order of qualification for Paris 2024.

(1) The top two (2) highest ranked athletes on the World Rankings published on 18 June 2024 will be
listed as the qualifiers for Singles.
(2) If a Mixed Doubles quota is accepted by the NOC any qualified athletes in Mixed Doubles shall be
listed as members of the team.

one (1) team quota place (3 athletes per NOC).
Quota places are allocated based on the Continental Quotas table below. Each ITTF
Continental Federation should identify an existing event that will serve as the
qualification event.

2024 Team World Championships, 16-25 February 2024, Busan (KOR)
The quarter-finalists MAs/NOCs (not already qualified), from the 2024 World Teams
Championships, will each obtain one team quota place (3 athletes per NOC).
Quotas unused due to NOCs reaching quarter-finals at the 2024 World Team
Championships being already qualified via Continental Qualification or Host country
already qualified via Continental Qualification or World Championships will be
reallocated to the Mach 2024 World Team Ranking.

The highest ranked MA/NOC (not already qualified) in the World Team Ranking
(WTR) published immediately following the 2024 World Team Table Tennis
Championships Finals (March 2024 World Team Ranking) will each obtain one team
quota (3 athletes per NOC).
Mixed Doubles Qualification

The highest placed pairs in each Continental qualification event (note 2) will obtain
one (1) Mixed Doubles quota place. Each ITTF Continental Federation should
identify an existing event to determine their representative. Quota places are
allocated as per Continental quotas table below.
4 pairs
The semifinalist’s Mixed Doubles pairs at a designated Qualification Event in March
or April 2024 will obtain one Mixed Doubles quota place. Only eligible pairs
(athletes from the same NOC) of NOCs not already qualified may enter this event,
with a maximum of one (1) pair per NOC.
5 pairs
The 5 highest ranked eligible pairs in the Mixed Doubles World Ranking, as of week
19 of 2024 (Tuesday 7 May 2024), not already qualified, and from different NOCs
than those already qualified will obtain one Mixed Doubles quota place.

With the recognition of ITTF Americas in the ITTF Constitution in 2021, ITTF Americas has the combined quotas
of the former Continental Federations, Latin America and North America, for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, and

therefore, the two highest teams in the combined Continental Qualification event will obtain one team quota place
each.

With the recognition of ITTF Americas in the ITTF Constitution in 2021, ITTF Americas has the combined quotas
of the former Continental Federations, Latin America and North America, for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, and
therefore, the two highest Mixed Doubles in the combined Continental Qualification event will obtain one Mixed
Doubles quota place each.
Note: For the Mixed Doubles pair to compete in the Olympic Games, any qualified athletes in the Mixed
Doubles event must also be part of the team composition, in the respective gender should the NOC have
qualified a team.
Singles Qualification

Each NOC with a qualified team through the Team Qualification pathway
obtains two (2) quota places. The top two (2) highest ranked athletes of each
NOC with a qualified team in the World Ranking of week 25 in 2024 (Tuesday
18 June 2024) will be listed as qualifiers for Singles and as team members.
22 athletes
As determined by each continent, 22 athletes will obtain a quota place either
through a Continental Qualification event, or by Singles World Ranking.
Up to 15 athletes*
Up to 15 athletes will obtain a quota place through Singles World Ranking of
week 25 (Tuesday 18 June 2024) with respect to the maximum quota per NOC.
*The maximum quota will be 15, depending on the number of quotas available
after the distribution of the Mixed Doubles quota.
1 Universality place
One Universality place will be allocated to an eligible NOC.

The host country will automatically qualify the above, on the condition that the athletes meet the eligibility
requirements described under section C of this document.

NIVERSALITY

LACES
Two Universality places (2), one per gender, are made available to eligible NOCs at the Olympic Games
Paris 2024.
On 1 October 2023, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) will invite all eligible NOCs to submit their
requests for Universality places. The deadline for NOCs to submit their requests is 15 January 2024. The
Tripartite Commission will confirm, in writing, the allocation of Universality places to the relevant NOCs
after the end of the qualification period for the sport concerned.

The ITTF will publish the results of the respective qualification event within 2 days after the event on its
website (ITTF.com).
The ITTF will confirm in writing to the NOCs within two (2) days after the conclusion of each qualification
event or the publication of World Ranking, the quota places they have been allocated. The NOCs will
then have one (1) week to confirm to the ITTF if they wish to use these quota places, as detailed in section
H. Qualification Timeline.

Team Events:
If a Team continental allocated quota place is not confirmed by the NOC, by the confirmation of quota
place deadline, or if it is declined, or unused by the NOC, the quota place will be reallocated to the next
highest-ranked eligible team from that continent on the March 2024 World Team Rankings. For Team
quotas other than the continental ones, if a Team quota place is not confirmed by the NOC by the
confirmation of the quota deadline, or it is declined, or unused by the NOC, the quota place will be
reallocated to the next highest-ranked eligible team on the March 2024 World Team Rankings.
If a player, qualified for the singles event, from a NOC with a team qualified is not confirmed by the NOC
by the confirmation of quota place deadline or is declined by the NOC, the quota place will be reallocated
to the next highest-ranked eligible athlete from the same NOC not yet qualified from the 18 June 2024
World Singles Rankings. If the next highest ranked eligible athlete from the same NOC is declined, then
the process is repeated until the quota place is fulfilled.
Mixed Doubles:
If a Mixed Doubles continental allocated quota place is not confirmed by the NOC by the confirmation
quota place deadline, or if declined, or unused by the NOC, the quota place will be reallocated to the next
highest-ranked eligible pair, not yet qualified from that continent from the World Mixed Doubles
Rankings on 7 May 2024.
For Mixed Doubles quotas other than the continental ones, if a Mixed Doubles allocated quota place is
not confirmed by the NOC by the confirmation of quota place deadline or is declined or unused by the
NOC, the quota place will be reallocated to the next highest-ranked eligible pair not yet qualified from
the World Mixed Doubles Rankings on 7 May 2024.
Singles:
If a Singles continental allocated quota place, for an athlete of a NOC without a team qualified is not
confirmed by the NOC by the confirmation of quota place deadline or is declined or unused by the NOC,
the Singles quota place will be reallocated to the next highest-ranked eligible athlete listed from the same
continent on the 18 June 2024 World Singles Rankings.
For all other Singles quotas places achieved at non-continental events, if an allocated quota place for an
athlete of a NOC without a team qualified is not confirmed by the NOC by the confirmation of quota place

Any unused Universality place(s) will be reallocated to the next highest-ranked eligible athlete of the
same gender in the World Ranking (18 June 2024), who has not yet qualified for the Olympic Games and
respecting the maximum quota per gender and per NOC.
Definition:
“Ap” athletes are non-competing athletes accredited in the “Ap” category who have different
entitlements to competing athletes (accredited as “Aa”) as described in the “Ap” accreditation quotas
and conditions outlined in the IOC Accreditation Guide. These participants are not part of the athlete
quota as described in Paragraph B. Quota Places. “Ap” alternate athletes could become competing
athletes only under the conditions outlined in the IOC/Paris 2024 Late Athlete Replacement policy.
Eligibility:
“Ap” athletes must comply with the same eligibility rules as competing athletes as described in paragraph
C. Athlete Eligibility.
